Alessandro Michele unveiled the Autumn/Winter 2022 event collection, a collection where the iconic signature GG Supreme Web design embraced the Adidas universe!
Referencing the surrealist game, Exquisite corpse, this collection has been titled “Exquisite Gucci”. Like an Exquisite corpse, this collection consisted of an unexpected collaboration between Adidas and Gucci. Giving life to garments where the iconic signatures of the two houses meet.
Mirrors were used to reflect the flickering lights on the runway, Alessandro Michele presented clothes on which he commented: “Clothes are capable of reflecting our image in an expanded and transfigured dimension… wearing them means to cross a transformative threshold where we become something else.”
Gucci’s signature green colour made an appearance in this suit which blends the central Gucci and Adidas symbols. The Supreme GG canvas embraces the Adidas trefoil logo, and above all the famed three stripes of the brand on the trousers.
A fusion between the king of streetwear and Gucci’s all-Italian flourish, this is a look that worked its way into the collection and echoes our current times. A wife of mash-ups, assemblies, memes and infinite references… The Gucci logo also ends up merging with the famous Adidas clover!
