As sublime as they are undeniably powerful, Rolex’s Oyster Perpetual watches have contributed greatly to the house’s reputation for excellence. And if we discover through the fascinating pages of these beautiful books the human history behind the Rolex watches, it is because the small Rolex history is also connected to the big one!
Indeed, Rolex plays its part in the conquest of land, sky, and sea by creating high-performance watches we can first mention the Rolex Oyster, a water watch that crossed the English Channel hanging on the wrist of famous swimmer Mercedes Gleitze in 1927… Then, there is also the Rolex Daytona, built to beat speed, or the Rolex Explorer, built to reach the peaks of Mount Everest.

Starting with the mythical Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II.
The house developed the Rolex GMT-Master 6542 in the 1950s to go with the progress of civil aviation. The watch was able to simultaneously display the time of two time zones. Beautiful and robust, the Rolex GMT-Master is inspired by the lines of the Oyster case, but it owns its own personality according to its specific colors.
And it is precisely in new shades that the latest expression of the Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II stands out. This one features a “Cerachrom bezel disc in two-tone green and black ceramic”, also known as the signature colors of Rolex.
Another iconic piece is the Oyster Perpetual Datejust 31, which, this year, displays new dials with a new design and a floral setting. Thus, Rolex’s description: «Blue azzurro, olive green or silver, they are adorned with 24 flowers whose heart is a diamond set and the petals are enhanced by a sun, matte or grained finish. ».
Drawn upon by the nautical world, and especially by Rolex’s involvement in many sporting competitions, the Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master 40 comes for the first time in 18 ct A sublimated version of the original icon where once more, not to change a winning team, a rotating bezel is set with gemstones Stones which shades evoke the aurora borealis and the gleam of dawn – pink, sky blue, purple, and dark blue diamonds, and sapphires… Naturally magnificent!
Two other Rolex Oyster Perpetual features reignite the vision of the founder of the house.
Indeed, the Oyster Perpetual Air-King keeps on following this quest for beauty, performance, and durability in a new generation watch. Thus, the watch includes a redesigned case featuring an amount of protection for the crown and the straight sides of the case…
Provided with the caliber 3230, the Oyster Perpetual Air-King defies tradition with its slightly redesigned dial, which offers an optimized Chromalight display.
Finally, the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40 is available with a fluted bezel. A charismatic wrapping for this watch fashioned for the first time in this prestigious metal. It can also be mounted on the iconic President bracelet.
