Among these presents deposited under the tree or on the edge of fire, is the famous Love bracelet, icon of passionate love. Created in 1969 by Aldo Cipullo in New York, it’s one of those pieces that has a rich story behind it. Incredibly innovative from the day it was released, the Love bangle just keeps on illustrating its own creative discourse with variations on the same theme.

This mythical piece of jewelry also symbolizes love and engagement. The bracelet, able to be picked out from the crowd with its inlaid screw heads, encloses the wrist thanks to a special gold screwdriver kept by the starstruck lover that offers it to their partner. This style is a modern reinterpretation of the medieval chastity belt; Cartier quickly latched onto a growing infatuation of the Middle Ages staple. Crowned with a commercial technique destined to highlight its symbolism, it has conquered some of the most famous of couples (rather than individuals, since of course, you can’t buy one for yourself!). Liz Taylor and Richard Burton notably made it a true legend.

The jewelry brand is now choosing to extend its line. From here on out, rings chiseled in the image of the original bangles are making an appearance. Like the original piece, the Love ring is available in yellow, pink, or white gold, with or without precious stones. Delicate female hands are bound to suport them, just like female wrists before them. Pure, classic, without equal, they set in stone the eternal love that unites two lovers.
