For spring/summer 2023, Walter Chiapponi, artistic director for Tod’s, marks a Men’s collection called “Shapes of Italy” – a collection where the iconic Gommino becomes the Gommino Bubble on a new generation shoe !

Walter Chiapponi introduced a very contemporary collection at Men’s Fashion Week 2022. A Tod’s collection, called “Shapes of Italy”, which resonates with the emblematic lines and architecture of this ancestral country and the style and allure of today’s men.
In this new aesthetic dialectic, Walter Chiapponi has brought to the fore the signature style notes of the modern Italian man, but injecting them with the codes of the Tod’s house. At the forefront is the Gommino loafer, which here takes on an unprecedented twist in a shoe destined to become iconic.
The artistic director for Tod’s imagines some silhouettes for men based on an avant-garde technique cast in textured fabrics, inspired by nature… Silhouettes tinged with the warm and sunny notes of the Italian countryside!
The Gommino Bubble is a new generation version of the legendary Gommino shoe designed by Diego Della Valle in the 1980s. A moccasin that has become emblematic of Tod’s style, worn by Diana, Alain Delon and Audrey Hepburn. A true spearhead of the Tod’s silhouette, it is reimagined for Spring/Summer 2023 in a supercharged version.
A version where a Timeless T-buckle and a sole with oversized coloured studs give a pop and current dimension to this Italian style legend.
