On the Piazza Umberto, a cult classic of the little Italian island where Hollywood stars from Liz Taylor to Rita Hayworth once came to get away, the Tod’s boutique is enthroned. Starting this month, the label is presenting a limited edition revisited version of its Gommini moccasins – their original moccasin with 133 rubber pebbles on the sole.
In neon shades, they absorb the radiant light of the sun and become even more desirable – adorned with pink, yellow, or turquoise snakeskin. But the brand is also coming back to their D.D Bag, the very same one that payed homage to Princess Diana. Available in three sizes, it too has been released in never-before-seen shades: in citrus and turquoise leather, its folded concave lines fix the eye with a bright fascination.
These innovations remind us of those of a man who knew how to make a simple driving shoe into a must of contemporary chic. For just a weekend or the whole summer, these pieces can be snatched up at Tod’s, Piazza Umberto I, 8, Capri, Italy.
