The J12 ∙ XS: Lesage and Chanel Team Up For A Good Cause

Begun in 2005, this charity sale that benefits Duchenne muscular dystrophy research is coming back for its 7th edition this fall. The idea is simple but brilliant: 49 unique pieces of jewelry all specially composed just for the occasion by the biggest names in the profession. It’s all happening on November 11 at the Four Sessions Hotel des Bergues in Geneva. Through its six previous editions, Only Watch has already been able to raise 25 million Euros for charity L’Association moneyasque contre les myopathies. Innovation, craftsmanship, creativity, and a desire to donate humanity’s most beautiful creations for a good cause are a number of factors that have contributed to Only Watch’s success. Beyond all competition, Chanel is introducing a brand new version of its J12 icon.

With a creation that’s imagined as a celebration of the exclusive savoir-faire of Lesage and Chanel’s haute couture artisanship, the Haute Horlogerie workshops of the Cambon house imagine the enhancement of a timeless jewelery heritage, a surprising, stylish and independent timekeeper. Yet Chanel entered this world only 30 years ago. 30 years during which the house of fashion and sewing has known how to put its genius in contact with all the professions that contribute to its art by shaking the codes of watchmaking by trying for example to create a history around its watch Boy.Friend. The occasion has come to put this audacity and refinement to work for the good cause that is the 2017 edition of Only Watch.

While the new J12 ∙ XS is minimal, it’s nonetheless excessive. This unique style made in Switzerland is composed with a cuff that’s hand-sewn by Lesage, made of pearls and black glass brightened up by baguette-cut diamonds. With Lesage’s rare and precious experience with embroidery in tow, Chanel has brought the world a unique piece that brings the latest technological advancements to an exceptional and ancient art. For the 2017 edition of Only Watch, the exclusive new J12 ∙ XS is presented in a black ceramic and 18 carat white gold. Its onyx black dial perpetuates the depth and delicateness of the Mademoiselle’s favorite color in a 19mm size. Check it out on November 11.
