For its Spring/Summer 2013 collection, Charlotte Olympia is signing off on a clutch purse inspired by Chanel N°5 that’s already making tongues wag: Yellow Scent.
Ever since her very first collection, Charlotte Olympia has garnered unanimous praise from journalists and her 5th Avenue customers. Since 2007, she’s been sharpening her genius in refining the pin-up style of the 40s and 50s. She already surprised us last year with her collection dedicated to Miami Art Basel. From Van Gogh to Mondrian, six artists were honored by her brush as she paid homage to major artistic movements of the 20th-century, like an echo of the works presented during the event.
This season, Charlotte Olympia is signing off on a collection of accessories inspired by Paris, the City of Lights. The British designer is again successfully expressing her off-kilter and feminine vision of fashion. Amongst Eiffel Tower pumps and sandals adorned with tiny poodles, you can also find a gold plexiglass clutch bag who’s design might already seem familiar. Recalling the clear and pure lines of Chanel’s mythic N°5, Yellow Scent is an instant classic. The miniscule gold chain and pure label are all details that bring to mind elegance à la française. This veritable little gem humorously and lightly reinterprets the must-have accessory of any Parisian: her perfume.
