Chanel’s Boy pays homage to the brand’s history, to Coco, and to the love of her life, the man who first inspired her to rework rules for men to make them work for women: Boy Capel.
This great love had a tragic end when the Mademoiselle’s lover died suddenly in 1919, leaving her alone with her prestige. Nevertheless, this passionate adventure had a decisive impact on the designer’s life, so much so that Chanel’s style untiringly takes inspiration from the male wardrobe and from the era that marked the time she spent at her loved one’s side. Somewhere between hunting and swimming, she fashioned her own style, simple and gracious, by mischievously rewriting the now contemporary rules of masculine/feminine.
