A new direction for Repetto. The mythical French brand, shoemaker for national icons like Brigitte Bardot and Serge Gainsboug, is starting to operate in a new market: ready-to-wear.

Emilie Luc-Duc, creative director of Rodier, created a clothing collection unique to the Repetto universe. The brand is staying loyal to its identity by uniting two concepts: “dance and a joyous form of urbanity”. The city-dweller will now be able to put on airs of an étoile dancer! The finesse of the cuts, the lightness of the fabrics, everything has been put into play here to highlight gestures and movement. No cheap tricks here.

Jean-Marc Gaucher, the historical design house’s CEO, is radical: “The materials are important just like the colors. There are no prints.”

Waiting for us backstage is a plethora of powdery pink and tulle lace, for urban choreographies done in a cache-coeur top, justaucorps uniforms, and the inimitable tutu. Collective imagination is back: the world of dance, full to the brim with technicality and tradition, is back on center-stage. Heritage and time itself have never been so well reconciled. Elegance, comfort, and tradition: these are the key words for an iconic brand. Time for a “révérence”!
