In 1937, Ray-Ban created the emblematic Aviator. To celebrate its 75th birthday, the American sunglasses brand is launching the Ambermatic Collection inspired by the Aviator. The collection features a light-sensitive photochromatic yellow lens, which becomes darker depending on the light and temperature.
Originally designed for the U.S. military fighter pilots, the actor Tom Cruise, as Top Gun Lieutenant Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, made the Ray-Ban Aviator sunglasses even more desirable. Aviator remains a hit among stars, a masterpiece : with Aviator-loving stars such as Megan Fox, Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba, and Kate Moss.
