Description : This book invites us to discover the iconoclastic universe of the legendary House of Boucheron, which celebrates sensual, chic and modern femininity. The first jeweler to set up shop on the Place Vendôme 160 years ago, the House of Boucheron opens up its backstage. Through archival images, drawings and exceptional jewels, we explore the sources of inspiration, the history of the founders and the aesthetic singularities of Boucheron.

From its inception, the House has been a part of its time, designing the most beautiful jewellery for crowned heads and inventing innovative jewellery techniques. Creativity, iconoclastic spirit, humor, audacity… its values were born under the leadership of founder Frédéric Boucheron. Since then, each generation has captured the spirit of the times: new materials, new “wearers”, new approaches to the craft.

The most beautiful creations are presented here as if in a jewel box. The book offers multiple “discovery” sequences: the founder’s story is told in an insert printed on bible paper; a photographic portfolio on glossy paper immerses the reader in the material of rare stones (close-ups, zooms on diamonds, rubies, pink gold, gold cape…); an insert on offset paper presents a selection of the most beautiful designs of yesterday and today. The secrets of the workshop are also revealed in a “step by step” that takes the reader into the ultra-secret lair of luxury excellence… To close the book, an original photographic portfolio presents a selection of pieces from the exceptional high jewelry collection created for the 160th anniversary of the House.
