A restrained elegance brought to the next level by a few strings of pearls… Coco Chanel’s style still endures and continues to inspire the brand’s designers.

A fervent admirer of jewelry, she was the first fashion designer to launch a jewelry line in 1932. Decades later, this line still exists and continues to innovate. Sparkling without being gaudy, luminous without being pretentious, pearls have entered into contemporary history with the mission of brightening up the modesty of Chanel fashion. A chic accessory par excellence, they were at first timid, but then learned to pair up with a little dress, becoming a reference of timeless elegance “à la française” in the process. Later, they would go on to add a finishing touch to handbags, shoes, sunglasses, even integrating themselves into the sleeves of Chanel’s famous tweed suits.

The few strings of pearls on Gabrielle Chanel’s neck have since been split up, showing up on the wrist or at the waist. Pearls are taking on different proportions, nuanced shades, wandering between the earlobes and the ring fingers of seduced clients. This season, the brand is reinterpreting the emblematic white pearl in a supersize version. Encircled between the two luxurious screws of a sumptuous ring in an iridescent gold metal, this is the boldest accessory of the summer. The jewel is a veritable work of art uniting tradition and modernity, where the name of Gabrielle Chanel, elegantly branded on the sides, rings true.
