Since 1968, Eres has never ceased to enchant us with its original propositions, pure and whimsical, for swimsuits. With clever cuts and luxurious materials, its solar creations and, more recently, lingerie, have earned worldwide renown. This year, their collection is unveiled through the lens of Karl Lagerfeld, and gracefully worn by Bérénice Marlohe. May 1968: “sous les pavés, la plage” became the infamous rallying cry for widespread protests throughout France. This heady refrain would go on to be posted by Irène Leroux in her Eres boutique on Paris’ place de la Madeline. It isn’t unheard of for women to want to wear swimsuits all year long. This designer set out to offer the sun in the middle of winter, back when other stores only opened seasonally.

And so the swimsuit underwent a revolutionary modern transformation. A game of exceptional cuts sculpted and perfected the body, while the materials used were remarkable. This technical savoir-faire served to highlight the brand’s lure towards what they call “l’art du corps”. Exclusive, encasing, and pleasant fabrics mixed with a cut that excluded any inner bra support would craft the aesthetic notion of the swimsuit as a second skin. Faced with their enormous success, Eres began trying its hand at lingerie in 1998. For this line, the materials used proved delicate, refined, and resistant, conforming to the curves of any and every woman and assuring optimal comfort. Their natural skin-tone colors and muted pastel and powdered shades lightly came together with tulle, lace, and precious jersey fabrics. A sign of elegance and technical prowess, Eres has made a place for itself with its graphic and pure style, modern and timeless. Its colors, motifs, and cuts are their signature, unpretentiously highlighting the body.

This year, beach wardrobes are at their pinnacle, as evidenced by the new Sunwear collection. Composed of twelve pieces, it notably offers a silk printed caftan with embroidered finishings, a parasol skirt adorned with sprinkles of leather, or a harem pants get-up with batwing sleeves. Conceived for all those moments under the sun, these special creations sport precious materials and affirmed forms, staying in line with the spirit of Eres. Valérie Delafosse, creative director for the brand since 2007, has commented on her creations: “With more sophisticated fabrics, like satin and silk chiffon, wider shapes and caftans, they are perfect for the beach, dinner, or even a cocktail on a boat or a terrace.” The colors oscillate between bright pink, vitamin orange, or electric blue. This prestigious collection is exalted by Bond girl Bérénice Marlohe, through the lens of Karl Lagerfeld. The muse incarnates the concepts of liberty, exoticism, elegance, and purity celebrated by Eres.
