The creative director of Baby Dior, Cordelia de Castellane has imagined a collection filled with Dior codes – including the legendary toile de Jouy!
Baby Dior: The Dior Codes In Action
For Spring/Summer 2022, Cordelia de Castellane has created a Baby Dior collection filled with the codes initiated by Monsieur (Christian) Dior. A collection for the little ones, which is in tune with the spirit of the brand admired for its Parisian chic.
The 2022 Baby Dior collection celebrates the heritage of the founder further in the way it honors the unbreakable ties which unite Dior to the magic of India… In 1962, Marc Bohan, succeeding then to Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Dior, had already introduced in Bombay a collection which combined French chic and the flamboyant creatures of Indian cosmogony.
This time, Cordelia de Castellane used the mythical Toile de Jouy to illustrate monkeys, tigers, elephants and lotus flowers, thus reinventing the iconic Toile de Jouy pattern.
In these pieces designed for Dior Kids, the creative director adds to this enchanting universe of creations which has been subtly baptized Blossom – a reference to the flowers so dear to Christian Dior.
Here, the Dior DNA flourishes in soft colors, embracing these pieces in soft colors ranging from pink to gold… Again, the landmark codes of Dior are exhibited: the canework patterns, and the Dior Oblique print!
A collection all the more dreamlike because it has been presented in an inspiring campaign… Watch it here.
