After almost two years of good and loyal service, the Aston Martin DBX is upping its game: welcome to the DBX707. Why such a name? Just look under the hood! The famous 4.0- liter V8 has been modified to produce no less than 707 horsepower and 900 Nm.

The Gaydon firm added a new pair of turbos with new mapping. The DBX707 is also equipped of a brand new active exhaust system with four outlets in order to diffuse a captivating sound.

Among other changes, a few examples are the new 9-speed gearbox, an electronic rear limited-slip differential, an upgraded suspension system to prevent any rolling, a slightly recalibrated steering for better consistency and new carbon ceramic vented brakes with 6 piston front mono-block calipers. They hide behind 22-inch wheels as standard, and up to 23 inches as an option.

With the “Race Start” mode, which activates the Launch Control function, the car goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds only. The maximum speed was announced to be at 310 km/h. For comparison, the acceleration is exactly the same as the Porsche Cayenne Coupé Turbo GT’s and its 640 horsepower, which has a 10 km/h difference with the British SUV at top speed. It would be interesting to see the Aston Martin DBX707 on the Nürburgring circuit and find out if it happens to be faster than its competitor from across the Rhine river.

On the exterior, the British SUV gets a special treatment with a more aggressive front bumper, double vane grille, new wide body cooling intakes, redesigned daytime running lights and an imposing front splitter. The rear bumper has been revised to make room for the quad exhausts, while the diffuser is now larger. Aston Martin also added a small “swan wing” on top of the tailgate.
