The Second Rolls-Royce Boat Tail marks the spirits In Italy

This is probably the most luxurious car on the planet. And perhaps the rarest and most expensive one. The second of the three Rolls-Royce Boat Tails was present at the prestigious Concours d’ÉlĂ©gance de la Villa d’Este, near Lake Como.

And don’t you dare say that this Rolls-Royce Boat Tail is brown. The English firm does not give an official name to this shade, we simply know that it is a combination of several shades inspired by beaded shells from the buyer’s personal collection.

As for the first model, its buyer remains anonymous, but Rolls-Royce specifies that the family of the interested party has a past in the pearl industry. Hence the link between the pearl and the exterior hue, since the client presented four pearls to Rolls-Royce to design this unique color in the world.

This combination creates a pearly effect with a tint that changes depending on the light. The elements of the car have different shades, the hood is darker cognac color, with some tan and golden highlights. At the back, you find a walnut veneer with pink gold bands.

The interior is also inspired by the color of a pearl with cognac hue, walnut in profusion, pink gold and, of course, some hints of mother-of-pearl. The owner of the Boat Tail also supplied Rolls-Royce with the mother-of-pearl of his own collection for the manufacture of his car.

“Every Rolls-Royce Boat Tail order is, of course, incredibly special; but in this case, there was a little extra soul,”said Alex Innes, head of design at Rolls-Royce. “Creating a car in honour of a venerated client’s father and his family history is an extraordinary privilege, a responsibility we have taken very seriously. The result far exceeds that of a simple means of transport, it literally becomes a soulful work of art.”

Rolls-Royce does not mention any price for this second Boat Tail, but the first model would have cost 28 million dollars.
