We already know, Hedi Slimane has given himself the mission of mixing music with art and fashion. And next winter, on the Saint Laurent runway, the rock universe is meeting that of femininity. Just like the founder cherishing the effervescence of Parisian nights, Saint Laurent’s beauties thus become birds of the night; a bit punk, a bit glam, and very rock’n’roll. From this savory mixture comes silhouettes that are very clearly androgynous, and yet each look brings a piece of strongly affirmed femininity to the table.
Throughout the runway show, the models sport looks of veritable punk dolls dressed up in little dresses or tulle skirts, paired with classic jackets. Among these pieces that are cool to the max, some of them are more chaste than others, like the tuxedo jacket. The equation remains identical to the classic one: a masculine drape, satin lining, and calculated length. Playing around with the label’s classics, Hedi Slimane glorifies an even stronger woman, a force to be reckoned with who’s not afraid to get in the mix.
