It is certainly clear that Vivienne Westwood was inspired by the mid-nineteenth-century portfolio of Charles Frederick Worth for her Fall/Winter 2014 Collection. However, it would not be a classic Vivienne Westwood line without her own twists and turns. She manages to intertwine the “museum” look with bits and pieces of prints and passion. She also included inspiration from Peru, as Westwood still remains as an avid environmentalist. And last but not least, she pays homage to her signature “déshabillé” dress: a dress that carelessly falls off the shoulders yet hugs the hips.
