A sinuous, serpentine line. A gauge of eternal love for an ophidian goddess. On par with Baudelaire’s poem The Dancing Serpent, Boucheron is unveiling its Serpent Bohème collection, a collection that marks the pinnacle of an undulation between tradition and modernity. It was for the first time in 1888, on the eve before one of his numerous voyages, that Frédéric Boucheron offered his wife a necklace in the form of a snake. Like a promise of immortal sentiments, this jewel took on an evil-warding, almost magical property, protecting the wife during the absence of her husband. One jewel, one love, and one animal forever etched into the sands of time, announcing the principal aspirations and inspirations of the brand. In 1968, the Serpent collection was launched, illustrating their original story and becoming an iconic benchmark.

This story has endured and is reinventing itself even today. The new collection named Serpent Bohème is witness to this, designed by Claire Choisne, creative director for Boucheron since 2011. She is revealing 20 pieces marked by the elegance of the contemporary. The line is pure and modern, a refined and precious art, an undulating and fascinating symbol. This undulating reptile-esque talisman possesses chiseled scales and a granite relief skin. Its body is made of gold beads and the most exceptional of stones. This piece of jewelry captures light, making the material even more perfect. This savoir-faire is directly inherited from the father of the brand, the “Magician of stones”.

Boucheron’s president, Pierre Bouissou, comments on these new little marvels: “Serpent Bohème is the signature of Boucheron’s spirit, loyal to our raison d’être: creating emotion”. This emotion transcends time and space, like many of the brand’s innovations, like physical tales of Frédéric Boucheron’s voyages in India, Asia, or Egypt. This vagabond soul and Bohemian wind make for a pure and refined metamorphosis.
