Parisian label Chloé, ambassador of timeless modernity, proposes the XXL Agatha Butterfly sunglasses for summer 2013.
Synonymous with femininity and extreme seduction for the past 50 years, the butterfly sunglasses have had a hectic life alongside Hollywood icons such as Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn. Originally known as “Cat’s Eye”, their design has evolved to evoke the wings of a butterfly and it was in the seventies that they took the name that we know them by today. Vintage revival requires that the butterfly sunglasses come back to the scene in 2013.
This season Chloé proposes, Agathea, a model in golden metal with the sweet scent of the seventies. Claire Waight Keller, the artistic director of the brand, proposed two different oversized butterfly frames available in six shades from powder pink, to gradient blue through copper. The main advantage of these iconic frames? The instant glow that they place on the face, thanks to their rounded forms that sweep the face upward, come people even speak of “a lifting effect without surgery”. Like a chameleon, they go with all styles from simple to sophisticated.
This frame is placed in line with the feminine and relaxed figure imagined 60 years ago. by Chloé founder Gaby Aghion. Chloé, a creative and always portable style, stands up to the test of time in order to perpetuate femininity, grace, modernity and freedom of spirit.
