Designed by Julien Dossana, the new Paco Rabanne collection bind time and seductiveness- an experiment which was particularly noticed due to the use of Paco Rabanne’s iconic signature: Space Grey.
Julien Dossena’s show for Fall/Winter 2022 was held at the Palais de Tokyo. “I explored textures, proportions and volumes, by attempting to create balance between the theoretical and the fundamental – which I like – and at the same time, femininity and sensuality,”Julien Dossena says.
And he is clearly walking towards being the great couturier of the extreme. The “metallurgist of fashion” experimented way beyond our expectations of fashion… “I challenge anyone to design a hat, a coat or a dress which has never been done before… The only new limit remaining in fashion is the discovery of new materials.” Claiming that “sewing is slavery”,Paco Rabanne made dresses not out of fabric, but out of paper and other « has-been” materials such as plastic and metal, securing them with thread and glue. Among these materials dear to Paco Rabanne, chain mail is still proudly among the signatures of his house.

As Julien Dossena conceptualized his Fall/Winter 2022 collection to be a conversation, a collage; or better “an affinity with the materials or an unexpected contrast between them – a collage, a conversation between fabrics…” We acknowledge this asymmetrical mini dress with a chain mail cut in this space gray to be the star piece of this show.
