With 46 years under its belt, Opium, the mythic fragrance from Yves Saint Laurent, is preserving its iconic form but reinventing it in gold. Starting November 4th, the spicy, amber nectar will be presented in a special collector’s edition. An olfactory opuscule from the nose of Jean-Louis Sieuzac, Opium restores a long-forgotten and dynamic formula: notes of jasmine, mandarin, and bergamot combined with a mixture of spiced carnation. A number of reflections are given off by this ingot wonder: games of transparency, femininity, and insolence. The shade of black on the thin cord that dresses up the perfume is surprising next to the flask’s color.
At the same time, Yves Saint Laurent is releasing three new skincare products. Taken from Opium, the line will soothe the skin and dress it up with a sensual, sophisticated, and fresh odor with bronzed tones. A body oil, moisturizing mist, and a satiny powder, each contained in two-tone boxes: gold on Turkish red or Turkish red on gold. It’s the door to a dreamy world where the skin is perfected by the radiance that emanates forth from this precious Opium.
