Mercredes- AMG is one of the first truly sporty brand to focus on electrification. The Affalterbach firm intends to go even further and has just given us a first glimpse of its Mercedes-AMG Vision concept, which prefigures the style of a possible electric supercar by 2025.
extreme both in its lines and in terms of aerodynamics, this prototype is inspired by the Formula 1 and and appears to be a big evolution of the Mercedes-Benz EQXX concept car, the electric car that is capable of driving over 1,000 km on a single charge.
The link between the AMG vision and the EQXX is quite obvious. The hood is really short, The sharply cut sides and endless rear end are just some of the features shared with the EQXX prototype, which shines in terms of aerodynamics with a Cx of just 0.17.
However, the sporty concept unveiled by Mercedes-AMG has a personality of its own, as evidenced by the large illuminated “Panamerica” grille, the Mercedes-AMG signature, and the LED headlamps that recall the Mercedes star shape.
At the rear, there is an active spoiler and six LED lights integrated into a glossy black diffuser that look like exhaust outlets. This is enough to satisfy those who don’t want to turn their backs on the petrol engine yet? As for the interior, Mercedes has not yet presented anything.
The same goes for the mechanical part, we just know that they are electric motors. The brand simply suggested that the installed electric blocks deliver “much more power than ordinary electric motors”.
The Mercedes-AMG Vision Concept is based on a specific platform with a battery that is likely to be around 100 kWh in size and is backed by a 900 V architecture for better charging times.
