The participation of LVMH in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games transcends the boundaries of luxury and craftsmanship to be anchored in a celebration of French elegance and heritage – notably through the creations of Dior, Louis Vuitton, Berluti, Chaumet, and MoĂ«t Hennessy for the art of hosting!
LVMH at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games: Symbiosis of Luxury and Creativity
LVMH and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games represent a story of the convergence of geniuses. âThis unprecedented partnership with the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games will help to shine a spotlight on France around the world. It was natural for LVMH and its houses to be associated with this great international event,â declared Bernard Arnault.
Indeed, LVMH supports several great French athletes, each an ambassador of the groupâs values of excellence. LĂ©on Marchand, a 22-year-old swimmer, is an ambassador of Louis Vuitton, known to be one of Franceâs top medal hopefuls for the 2024 Games.
MĂ©lanie de Jesus dos Santos, a 24-year-old gymnast and ambassador of Dior, is a rising star of French gymnastics. Enzo Lefort, a 32-year-old fencer with multiple medals, and Antoine Dupont, a member of the French Olympic rugby sevens team, also join the LVMH family with Louis Vuitton.
But perhaps it is with the reinvention of its iconic trunks that Louis Vuitton has demonstrated its expertise in protecting and showcasing the emblematic objects of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Firstly, the Medal Trunks, designed to house the medals crafted by Chaumet, and the Torch Trunks, which transported the Olympic Torch across France. These trunks are, of course, covered in the iconic Monogram and Damier canvases, illustrating more than 170 years of expertise.
Dior and Berluti at the Heart of the Artistic Performances of the Opening Ceremony
To enhance the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the House of Dior has deployed all its exceptional savoir-faire by crafting costumes for five artistic scenes of the opening ceremony. Each piece, created in Diorâs Parisian workshops, embodies the refinement and excellence that have characterized the house since 1946.
Dressed by Dior, Lady Gaga performed âMon truc en plumes,â paying tribute to Zizi Jeanmaire and Roland Petit, iconic figures of the French artistic scene. Her ten dancers, also dressed by Dior, offered a dazzling performance on the Seine, celebrating the spirit of French cabaret and Diorâs rich artistic tradition.
Aya Nakamura and her six dancers, adorned in golden creations by Dior, illuminated the Pont des Arts. Each golden feather, meticulously applied by hand, evoked the Phoenix, a symbol of rebirth and majesty.
Diorâs most spectacular contribution was undoubtedly that of soprano Axelle Saint-Cirel, who performed La Marseillaise on the roof of the Grand Palais. Her dress, over 8 meters long, transformed from a tricolor flag into a textile work of art, surrounded by a choir of women on the Pont Alexandre III, also dressed by Dior.
Juliette Armanet and pianist Sofiane Pamart wore unique creations integrating luminous technology by Clara Daguin, paying tribute to John Lennon with âImagine.â The finale, the highlight of this ceremony, saw CĂ©line Dion shining brightly on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower, in a dress adorned with pearls and fringes, crafted with prodigious expertise by Dior.
The opening ceremony also unveiled three impressive scenes showcasing the values of excellence and craftsmanship of Louis Vuitton. On the roofs of Louis Vuittonâs headquarters at Pont Neuf, a masked relay runner revealed the making of the Medal Trunk, combining acrobatics and precision movements. This scene continued with a choreography along the Pont Neuf, up to the Monnaie de Paris, where the medals were carefully placed in their cases.
For the opening ceremony, Berluti also dressed the French team athletes with custom-made outfits, embodying âĂ la françaiseâ elegance. Inspired by tuxedos, the garments featured a âFrench flagâ patina, and the men wore Shadow sneakers in national colors.
LVMH and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games: Chaumet Medals and Volunteer Outfits
The genius of LVMHâs houses triumphs again in the creation of the medals!
The medals for the Paris 2024 Games, designed by Maison Chaumet and struck by the Monnaie de Paris, are more than just objects. For the first time, each medal is adorned with a fragment of original iron from the Eiffel Tower, symbolizing French heritage and Gustave Eiffelâs audacity. This iron, produced in the forges of Lorraine, adds a unique historical and symbolic dimension to these medals!
The 5,084 Olympic and Paralympic medals, including gold, silver, and bronze, have been made from 100% recycled materials, in line with IOC and IPC guidelines, reinforcing Paris 2024âs eco-responsible commitment.

âIt was magical to discover the excitement that the Olympic flame generates. The one who holds it cannot go wrong. It immunizes you. Children literally dance in the street,â concluded Antoine Arnault.
