Jeannette: Vintage Shop

At a time when fashion is happily drawing on its past icons, Jeannette, the vintage shop founded in 2016 by Joséphine de Lorgeril, is an ideal address!

Jeannette : ethical fasion for unique items

In 2016, Joséphine de Lorgeril imagines Jeannette – a contraction inspired by the names of her two grandmothers, Jeannine and Pierrette. If the filiations could have stop there, Jeannette, the vintage shop, owes much to these ladies of another time. It is indeed in the outdated wardrobe of her two grandmothers that Joséphine de Lorgeril was able to unearth the idea of a vintage shop on a human scale, and pieces that are wildly desirable for our time!

Astonished by all these timeless pieces/items but above all cut in a beautiful quality, Joséphine de Lorgeril wonders: “How could they have passed through time so well? How could they be so modern when they belong to my grandmother?

With a one-two punch, now Breton, anchors her vision in the ethics of the time – the fashion is for the circular economy, up-cycling, nostalgia and the desire to reduce consumption… In other words, the Jeannette shop is anchored in all of this at once.

And if Joséphine de Lorgeril starts the Jeannette adventure by picking directly from her grandmother’s wardrobe, it is very quickly that she manages to get her hands on some epic pieces! With the idea of giving a second life to pieces that, from flowery dresses, to the iconic Levi’s jeans, to the blazer smelling of the grandfather’s spirit and that never ceases to allure the girls of the time… Here is the look of the Jeanette women as described by the shop: “the Jeanette woman is chic, loves to travel and dares to wear different styles.

Jeanette is finally the ideal destination for girls who want to consume intelligently, beautiful, sustainable and above all French chic.

Here are some of the big names that can be found on the Jeannette e-shop. Luxurious pieces signed by Escada, Thierry Mugler, Féraud, Guy Laroche, Gianfranco Ferré, Nina Ricci, or Emmanuel Ungaro.

And since Joséphine de Lorgeril likes to push the experience of appropriating the pieces she has purchased to the limit, she is keen to personalise the act of purchase as rarely as possible. Each time you order, you receive a little thank-you gift, Jeannette-style… Because although the shop brings together beautiful vintage pieces, Joséphine de Lorgeril also wants to honour artists and contemporary designers who lack visibility.

Sensitive to the eco-responsible spirit and up-cycling as practiced by Jeannette, the artists and designers who have already collaborated with the shop have all contributed with their jewellery, their scrunchies, their soaps or their visions to expand this chic and ethical project.

Artwork that accompanies some of today’s wildly popular pieces. From @zoejanebb’s bowls to @fabriquedecourennes’ soaps or @thisismullet’s, @sakoshe.officiel’s and @mayd_store’s jewels… An admirable way to link the past to the present in a vision consistent with the times!
