The next Hermès Vintage auction, organized by Artcurial, will take place on May 21st. Get ready to dive into the unique and luxurious universe of this fashion house, a symbol of French refinement and elegance.
For almost 12 years now, the brand has organized an auction in Paris that has become an essential rendez-vous for collectors and lovers of rare pieces the world over. Their success was crowned, in 2007, by a record 74,000 Euros (at the strike of the gavel) for a black “Birkin” bag, marked on the inside by the autograph of Jane Birkin herself. Confronted with the rarefaction and the waiting period to acquire certain bags, connoisseurs are steadily turning to auctions to get their hands on certain emblematic or time-worn pieces.
Leather goods, travel bags, watches, jewelry, fashion accessories, “carré” scarves… this auction will gather a selection of 800 items within a wide range of prices. Vintage enthusiasts will even be able to bid on low-priced lots.
This season, sales records are set to be shattered with a limited edition car, the Smart car Toile H edition, dressed up by the mythical Hermès. Special orders and limited editions of the Birkin or the Kelly in horsehair or crocodile skin, guardians of the savoir-faire of Hermès’ artisans, will also appear in the items catalogue.
All of the items to be auctioned off will be on display at Artcurial’s headquarters in the Champs Elysées roundabout in Paris from May 17th- 19th. The auction will take place on May 21st at 10:00 a.m.
