Maria Grazia Chuiri wanted this Dior Haute Couture collection to be an ode to know-how, craftsmanship and precious trades. Entrusting the House of Dior’s specialised ateliers and knowledge of haute couture, the current artistic director brought a sophisticated, practical and refined wardrobe to the heart of the Rodin Museum.
Amongst the 64 silhouettes, an immaculate rendition of the legendary Bar suit made an appearance – exuding simplicity, it appears to be made from a single fabric. This extraordinarily refined daytime piece honours the true craftsmanship that made the complex arc of the garment invisible, revealing the genius of the Dior workmanship.
Another iconic classic that was exhibited at the Dior Couture 2022 collection was Dior grey, also known as Montaigne grey. A shade already celebrated by Kim Jones in his A/W 2022 men’s collection, but this time elevated in the world of couture. The grey tinted dresses and pleated silhouettes once again hint at the perfection of the classics cultivated by Monsieur Dior 75 years ago.
