Cartier never ceases to magnify its inspirations from the four corners of the world in dexterous jewellery pieces. And the latest high jewellery collection is an ode to “La Beauté du Monde”.
Cartier high jewellery : taking inspiration from the world
The House of Cartier has always opened a dialogue between the different cultures of the world. Recently, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris held an exhibition on Cartier’s relationship with the arts of Islam, with sensational pieces of jewellery that bear witness to Cartier’s sincere and protean inspiration.

In 2022, Cartier is introducing a high jewellery new collection this time celebrating the miracles of nature and the cultures that inhabit it. ‘Nouchali’, ‘Récif’, ‘Water Aspis’, ‘Apatura’, ‘Rituel’ or « Iwana’… These are all names of sets that translate these marvels into stones, diamonds, lines and volumes.
Cartier captures the traditions and natural beauty of the elements, landscapes, corals, reefs and other miraculous flowers in stunning jewellery compositions.
And it is worn by the Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani that these sets are introduced. Like the Apatura necklace, which transfers the marvel of a butterfly wing around three Australian opals, diamond bars and blue sapphire balls.
The Maison de la Place Vendôme specifies: “Made in the great Cartier tradition of transformable jewellery, this necklace doubles its stylistic effects; to be worn with or without its pendant, detachable as a brooch.
In this high jewellery collection from Cartier, one cannot help but be blown away by the ‘Rituel’ set – a set that unfolds as if iridescent with a constellation of rubies, and which pays homage to traditional Mesoamerican jewelry.
Another masterpiece, if we had to choose just one more – the Nouchali set. An ornament similar to the miracle of an aquatic flower whose extraordinary beauty Cartier captures. The water lily sculpted around the rubellite reveals a stylised approach by Cartier’s dexterity. And Cartier finds the words to poetically describe the effect of such goldsmith’s work: “The eye is immediately captivated by the centre stone, a 10.61 carat rubellite around which are crystallised petals of diamonds surrounded by onyx that increase the impression of volume. All are geometrically shaped, emblematic of Cartier Haute Joaillerie.”
