Gucci shot on location at a place filled with the brand’s history. A game of seductive cat-and-mouse between the Gucci woman and a persistent photographer unfolds at the Savoy Hotel in London. Within these very same walls, one Guccio Gucci worked as a lift operator at the turn of the century. In this historic hotel, he one day got the idea to found a familial leathergoods enterprise in Florence that would bear his name. Like a nod to Guccio’s audacity, the film dedicates a sizable amount of time to a quick wardrobe change for model Andreea Diaconu inside the hotel’s elevator.
While she enters with the Lady Lock, it’s in the company of the Bamboo Shopper that she makes her escape, and rightfully so. This intriguing mini film is full of style that’s elevated, literally and figuratively. With style and a number of tiny courtesies, set to a track by the Black Angels – Bad Vibrations – the enigmatic Andreea Diaconu perfectly plays the femme fatale Gucci woman. Perfect stones and artisanal munificence make for a stand-still ambiance around the impeccable Bamboo Shopper and the oh-so-chic Lady Lock. Two protagonists that are here being celebrated in a refined and absolutely glamorous way.
