Audi A6 Avant e-tron Concept: the elegance of a station wagon, the performance of a sports car

A pillar of the German high-end industry, just like Mercedes and BMW, Audi is preparing its future, a future which will obviously be electric. In 2024, the company with the rings logo will present the new generation of its A6 cars, with several electric models.

The Audi A6 Avant e-tron concept car, which has just been unveiled, gives a first glimpse of what the A6 of the future will look like. The future A6 Avant will be similar to the concept car, and this is good news because it is a rather radical evolution in terms of styling compared to the current model, despite similar exterior dimensions.

Particular attention has been paid to aerodynamics, the concept displays a Cx of 0.24 thanks in particular to the camera mirrors, which is only 0.02 points less than the A6 e-tron Concept sedan. From the side, we notice the presence of 22-inch rims and a receding roof line giving a dynamic appearance. It is overall very elegant, superbly well drawn, and we hope that the standard model will retain most of the lines and shapes of this magnificent concept.

With lines that are so elegant that Audi could perhaps make a film career out of it: It would not be the first time that an Audi appears on the big screen, we remember in particular the Audi A8 in 2017 Marvel movie Spider-Man: Homecoming, the Audi e-tron Sportback concept and Audi e-tron GT concept in Avengers: Endgame and, of course, the Audi A8 and S8 cars in the “The Transporter” movie series.

The Audi A6 Avant e-tron Concept is based on the new PPE (Premium Platform Electric) electric platform developed with Porsche, just like the A6 e-tron Concept sedan announced in April 2021.

The new PPE platform is intended to form the basis of the next zero-emission Audi models, regardless of body and classification. The new models based on the PPE architecture will first belong to the E class (class of the A6, A6 Avant and A7 Sportback), with in particular the new Q6 e-tron which will arrive from 2023.

The prototype model has two electric motors and a four-wheel drive for a total of 476 horsepower and 800 Nm. Audi announces a 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4.0 seconds.
