“A ballgown makes people dream and must make you become a dreamlike being. I esteem that it’s just as necessary as a suit in a woman’s wardrobe. And so marvelous for the morale…” Christian Dior may not have of dreamed of accomplishing the fusion between a watch and a ballgown. And yet, his brand’s workshops have never ceased to go beyond the limits of what’s possible to release a new version of the Dior VIII Grand Bal timepiece this year.
This limited edition is more generous, with 888 copies being released. The name “Plissé Soleil” is inspired by a couture technique and is undoubtedly the most dazzling piece in the new collection. The “Plissé Soleil” is reproduced on the oscillating mass with the shape of a metallic grey nacre inlay, decorated with a sea green hem. The Dior VIII Grand Ball “Plissé Soleil” brings out the bracelet in a deep royal blue that builds on the timepiece’s overall enchantment. No doubt about it, the Dior “Plissé Soleil” is an icon in the making.
