Ever since Goldeneye in 1995, James Bond’s gadgets have been in the spotlight. Among them, his Omega Seamaster, an essential object for 007’s missions. Today, the Swiss manufacturer has created a unique piece that, in an explosion of 18 carat yellow gold, honors the fiftieth anniversary of one of the most beloved films in the world. Paying homage to this agent on her Majesty’s secret service, a counterbalance on the 18 carat yellow gold second hand has been installed. The result? The iconic logo, hand-faceted, can be discovered with every ticking second: 007.

With such a fabulous product, it’s no surprise that the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra ended up taking home an incredible sum: auctioned off at 106,000 Swiss francs ($112,610 USD), it went for over eight times its estimated value! It’s worthy noting that this Seamaster Aqua Terra is composed around a discrete 38.55 mm casing made of 18 carat yellow gold. The dial is also made of gold. The indexes were covered in Super-LumiNova, allowing the timepiece to be readable in any condition. On the inside: this piece is equipped with a new Omega Master Co-Axial calibre 8501 movement, visible thanks to the casing’s transparent background that allows the balance cock and the ever so bright oscillating mass to make an appearance… Finally, on the 18 carat gold ring that surrounds the casing’s transparent background, you can read the engraving: “Goldfinger, 50th anniversary, unique piece, anti-magnetic, > 15,000 GAUSS”. It’s a dream come true for any Bond enthusiast, awaiting its new owner in a box inspired by the U.S. Bullion Depository building in Fort Knox.
