The Monaco GP and Mercedes is the story of 8 victories in a short period of time – the exemplary team having been absent from the F1 Championship for 55 years!

Even before the term “motor race” was coined, Mercedes was involved in the thrill of car racing. Yes, it was following the merger of the German company Benz & Cie, producer of industrial machinery, and the German engineering company Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG) that Mercedes was founded in 1926, under the name Daimler-Benz. The history of Mercedes and F1 can best be summed up if one evokes the legend of the Silver Arrows. These Mercedes cars have won the most beautiful victories in their path, until that fateful day in 1966, at the 24 Hours of Le Mans… A terrible accident forced Mercedes to withdraw from the F1 Championship for 55 years.

Monaco GP: Untamable Mercedes
Since Mercedes’ return to F1 in 2010, the manufacturer has achieved the greatest feats. At the end of 2012, when Michael Schumacher, then associated with Mercedes, decided to end his Formula 1 career. It was the very young 2008 F1 champion Lewis Hamilton who was chosen as the new Mercedes driver. And since 2014, the ascendence is complete!
In 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2019 – Mercedes take the lead at the most glamorous of F1 circuits. In Monaco, the Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes duo revive the legend of the Silver Arrows!

Thus, a new page of F1 is written – a number of records were broken at the 77th Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday 26 May 2019.
In 78 laps, the winner Lewis Hamilton completed the Monaco GP in 1h 43 min 28 sec 43… Following this Lewis Hamilton made history again by becoming the second driver to win six drivers’ championships, ahead of Michael Schumacher a few months later during the GP of Turkey.
