The bottle is identical: chiseled and draped. Bringing to mind the sinuous alleyways of Paris, evoking the tousled sheets that still carry the faint scent of a Parisian who’s already made her escape. This perfume that fills the room with its carnal, sensuous notes is nuanced with odors of cranberry and blackberry, and tied together with Damas rose, violet, and sandalwood. A background note of vetiver, nonchalantly picked off from men’s cologne, encapsulates the very spirit of the Parisian herself: fragile strength.
The new bottle hides away the pinkish liquid within, ever so pure, from prying eyes. Completely ebony tinted, the design house’s seal slips onto it just like Yves Saint Laurent’s “Le Smoking” slips right onto a woman. This new “Edition Singulière” of Parisienne corresponds with what Pierre Bergé once said: “I like Le Smoking because it represents the instant when Yves gave power to women.” This black is impenetrable, and reflects no light whatsoever: it obscures or even transforms reality whenever a woman opts for restraint.
Available only in a limited edition, starting February 11th, this perfume once more gives Yves’ beauties the confidence and assurance that founded everything that made this such a quintessential brand in the first place.
