Singer Brings the Porsche 930 Back to Life

Singer Vehicle Design is probably one of, if not the most famous Porsche Tuners in the world, and for good reason. This American company is no longer just a tuner, but also specialises in the refurbishment of old models. What sets them apart is their integration of both contemporary and antique elements together, and what’s more, their models are often made to fulfil specific requests of different clients.

Today Singer revealed their new model which is just as exceptional as those that came before it: the 911 Turbo Study, a modern interpretation of the iconic 930 Turbo.

The 930 Turbo could be mistaken for the original model sold in the 1970s and 80s, however a more knowledgeable eye will be able to spot the lowered body, larger alloy wheels, the prominent spoiler and a more modern interior. Singer’s creations are often one of a kind, with the atelier giving customers the opportunity to truly personalise their car.

From the colour of the bodywork to the interior upholstery and the power of the engine, every decision is finalised before the car is built.

The model shown in the photos has a “Wolf Blue” finish with a “Malibu sand” leather interior and “Black Forest” wood detailing. This customer requested a more comfort-oriented suspension setting so they opted for carbon-ceramic brakes. The wide-ranging fittings include air conditioning, heated and adjustable seats and modern safety features such as ABS, ESP and cruise control.

Contrary to what you might think, under the bonnet there is nothing fancy. The Turbo Study is powered by a 3.8-litre, twin-turbo, flat-six engine capable of producing no less than 450 horsepower. Singer’s work is so exceptional that Porsche has just signed a contract with them to supply them with engines manufactured by its Motorsport North America division.

Singer’s 911 Turbo will be revealed live at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, in the UK, from the 23rd-26th June, and at Monterey Car Week in California in August.
