Sèvres – Manufacture and National Museum puts small dishes in the large and invites you to a journey from Antiquity to the present day, greedy and surprising. The exhibition traces the fascinating history of the French gastronomic meal by evoking the preparation of dishes and their consumption, the arts of the table and that of conversation. Flagship works from our collections and numerous loans from other institutions will allow us to discover the uses and customs of the table at all times. A delightfully rewarding culinary escape!

Reduced price: 10€Following “Ten Thousand Years of Luxury”, organised together with the Louvre Abu Dhabi in 2019, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs presents “Luxes”. The exhibition offers a journey through time and geography, combining moments of contemplation and more monumental scans, offering each of the 100 works presented the most relevant space for delectation and understanding. The chronological and thematic tour opens up two emblematic places that are usually closed to visitors: the Salon 1900, a living memory of the Paris Universal Exhibition, a museum commission to celebrate Art Nouveau and the French decorative arts, and the Salon des Boiseries, revealing other masterpieces of European decoration, including an incredible chandelier by Venini exhibited in Paris in 1925, a spacious room in which to read and dream, taking time to enjoy the Tuileries and the rhythm of the city. Sensitive and encyclopaedic, selective and historical, the exhibition thus offers, for the first time in Paris and at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, an insight into luxury for the contemporary world. The scenography was entrusted to Nathalie Crinière and her agency, with the exceptional participation of the European Confederation of Flax.

Admired as much as he was controversial, Napoleon Bonaparte was a highly complex character whose life oscillated between heroism and tragedy, victory and defeat, modern advances and regressive measures. To celebrate the 200th anniversary of his death, La Villette, La RMN – Grand Palais and RERE / Adonis are offering a spectacular exhibition that provides a fair and uncompromising portrait of a fascinating figure who shaped the France of today. After all, to know Napoleon is to understand the world in which we live. From his rise to the decline of the imperial adventure, the exhibition retraces this crucial period in nine sections, from key moments in French history to the intimate and romantic life of the emperor. The exceptional collaboration of the Louvre, the châteaux of Versailles, Fontainebleau and Malmaison, the Musée de l’Armée, the Mobilier National and the Fondation Napoléon has brought together more than 150 original pieces, assembled here for the first time. Masterpieces created during the Empire, exceptional objects that belonged to Napoleon and contemporary creations follow one another along a chronological and educational path. Vast reconstructions and numerous digital devices offer visitors a real immersion in the heart of these decisive moments in French history. A health pass is not required for this exhibition.

Edmond Rostand is not yet thirty but already has two children and a lot of anxiety. He has not written anything for two years. So, in despair, he proposes to the great Constant Coquelin a new play, a heroic comedy, in verse, for the holidays. The only problem was that it had not yet been written. Ignoring the whims of the actresses, the demands of his Corsican producers, the jealousy of his wife, the love affair of his best friend and the lack of enthusiasm of everyone around him, Edmond starts writing this play that nobody believes in. For the moment, he only has the title: Cyrano de Bergerac.

The Museum of Decorative Arts presents an exhibition of its collections of photographs, revealed for the first time to the public. This exceptional heritage collection, with more than 350,000 phototypes, brings together photographs of fashion, architecture, landscape, decor and advertising, from the 1840s to the most recent creations.
«Histoires de photographies» traces, through 400 original and negative prints, a century and a half of photographic stories immortalized by great names such as Eugène Atget, Laure Albin-Guillot, Dora Kallmus, better known as Madame d’Ora, Man Ray, Cecil Beaton, Robert Doisneau, Bettina Rheims, David Seidner…
