A true Parisian institution, Maison Kayser began its history 25 years ago, at 8 rue Monge, in the heart of the 5th arrondissement of Paris.
Son and grandson of a baker, Éric Kayser decided to take up the family torch and the heritage of the French baking tradition – working with sourdough bread adapted to contemporary demands and tastes.
Between tradition and modernity, Kayser has established itself as a benchmark in terms of quality and constantly renewed know-how. Forgotten in the 20th century in favour of yeast, liquid leaven – a mixture of water and flour that is regularly refreshed – is nevertheless the original fermentation agent in the history of baking. Although Maison Kayser has been able to adapt and develop its ranges in line with changing lifestyles, its objective is to fully satisfy its customers and become a true gastronomic companion!
Frozen sweets to enjoy all summer long
Macaroons, viennoiseries and éclairs have certainly become true icons of the House, but one tradition remains: that of ice creams and sorbets, which refresh and awaken the taste buds in the summer season!
Once again this season, Sébastien Senaille, the House’s executive pastry chef, has come up with artisanal ice cream recipes, without colouring agents or preservatives, based on traditional flavours: vanilla, chocolate, coffee or pistachio! The ingredients, carefully selected, are just like the House – quality! Cream and milk from Touraine, home-roasted fair trade coffee from Richard, chocolate from the Ivory Coast with a minimum of 65% cocoa and pistachio paste from Italy – the birthplace of traditional Gelato!
For those who prefer sorbets, the flavours and colours are also there! Composed of 90% fruit and 10% natural sugars, the lemon, mango or raspberry sorbets are sure to refresh the palates of even the hungriest of gourmets without the guilt!
These delicious frosted creations can be tasted in the extraordinary Jardin du Carrousel du Louvre, in the Roulotte Gourmande Maison Kayser.
Validated by Icon-Icon, these delicacies are sure to take you on a journey in this bucolic Parisian setting, just a stone’s throw from the most iconic places in the capital: from the Faubourg Saint-Honoré to the Place Vendôme, via the Louvre Pyramid.
