Minute attention to detail and the use of vibrant elements are all part of fine jewelry, especially when it comes to Jaeger Le-Coultre. With a burst of precious stones, ingenuity, and technical mastery, the Jaeger-LeCoultre universe easily fits into that of jewelry as they make time sublime. This year, the Swiss manufacturer is presenting four timepieces so dazzling that they’re sure to go down in the history of fine jewelry. The Rendez-Vous Celestial, the Reverso One Duetto Jewelry, the Rendez-Vous Moon Medium, and the Rendez-Vous Secret were imagined as small splendors of an art that often doesn’t call itself such.
A masterpiece of the Swiss manufacturer’s artisan jewelers and watchmakers, the Rendez-Vous Secret watch definitively highlights Jaeger-LeCoultre’s keen abilities in the realm of miniaturization. Composed with 304 stones, the piece takes on the aesthetics of a 1960s watch within the label’s own heritage, as well as all the talent of the stone setters that reveal the reflective work that went into this composition, making the utilitarian timepiece even more sublime. The Rendez-Vous Celestial watch plays with an enamel dial and a hand-painted lapis lazuli sky disk before opening up on an encrusted bezel that offers a gradation of sapphires. The Rendez-Vous Celestial distinguishes itself with inventiveness and the genius of its composition that, with graphic games of light, makes it appear as a work of art. This is the stuff dreams are made of.
The third timepiece introduced by Jaeger-LeCoultre uses the curves from the iconic Reverso in a bit more sophisticated version. The Reverso One Duetto Jewelry is eminently feminine with an encrusting of light and fine and elongated traits that are perfected by the sparkling of diamonds, all with an emblematic Art Deco allure. On the front side, a number of gems highlight the softness of the dial’s Bali nacre that displays Arab numerals that seem hand-drawn. On the back side, black opal and its warm and mysterious reflections complicate an encrusting of diamonds that evokes celestial rays – dazzling! Finally, the Rendez-Vous Moon Medium is presented in a guilloche style with elliptical geometry that is designed at the heart of this astral watch. Its sanded finishing gives off a surprising impression of depth and relief. With a day correction only once every 972 years, this emblematic function reveals a remarkable precision that’s no doubt on the same level as the other new Jaeger-LeCoultre watches.
