“I had a love affair with a woman I met at the Beaux-Arts in Quimper… I started making hundreds of erotic watercolors that represented both of us, and I realized that I enjoyed it much more. When she came to see me at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, when she came to my house, I started taking photos of her, with an analog camera at the time,” he explains in an interview given to Icon-Icon, where Frédéric Léglise reflects on the genesis of his work.
