At the rear, the headlights are thinner and are linked by a bead, like the other models of the brand. The DS 4 also features an extended head-up display that projects key driving information directly into the driver’s field of vision.

A new evolution of the EMP2 platform has been developed for DS 4. It comes with a 225 horsepower plug-in hybrid engine. The DS 4 E-TENSE, as it is called, is claimed to have a range of over 50 kilometers in 100% electric mode.

PureTech gasoline versions with 130, 180 and 225 hp and a BlueHDi 130 hp diesel version are also available. All these models will exclusively receive eight-speed automatic transmissions. As a modern car, the DS 4 is equipped with the majority of modern driving assistance technologies and, consequently, with semi-autonomous driving level 2 when the adaptive cruise control, the lane keeping system and the automatic management in traffic jams work together. The DS 4 also features technologies that are new in its category, such as the DS EXTENDED HEAD UP DISPLAY and the DS NIGHT VISION, an infrared camera that detects dangers at night.

Customers will also be able to turn to an exclusive piloted suspension system, with a camera located in the windshield that scans the road to anticipate irregularities and “prepare” the suspensions by making them firmer or softer.
