Bollinger PN Champagne: Second Edition

Bollinger PN champagne further magnifies the taste of pinot noir for this second edition of its very special creation!

While Bollinger is known to be Agent 007’s favorite champagne, the Bollinger PN champagne is a bit more rare. This is only the second time that the illustrious company has bottled the taste of Pinot Noir, an unprecedented approach to this great Champagne!

Because if the Bollinger PN is special in more than one way, it is because it is exclusively composed of Pinot Noir … As Charles-Armand de Belenet, Managing Director of Champagne Bollinger, rightly puts it:

“This cuvée made entirely from Pinot Noir is part of what makes the essence, the DNA of our House: a singular vision of this emblematic grape variety, and an uncompromising work to carry out the mission that has animated us since 1829, that of being creators of taste. “

This new Bollinger PN VZ16 edition offers a unique taste around a new interpretation of Pinot Noir – the very essence of the sublime Bollinger champagne. Don’t be mistaken: Pinot Noir is at the heart of the Bollinger experience; all throughout the house’s range of creations.

Where the Bollinger PN magnifies its use of Pinot Noir is in the exclusive orchestration of a champagne around this grape variety.

The ambition of the house? Express the unique vision of this grape variety taking good use of the know-how of the Bollinger house, around this new VZ16 edition!

Champagne Bollinger PN: The Sublime Of Pinot Noir

The house notes: “The large proportion of Verzenay in the blend of this edition brings to the wine the characteristics of the Pinot Noirs of this terrain: depth, elegance and tension. In order to act in aromatic synergy, Pinot Noirs from other villages have been associated with it and bring additional complexity to the blend.

2016 was particularly favorable for Pinot Noirs from the Montagne de Reims, particularly in the Verzenay vineyards. The natural maturity of the grapes was 10.6 degrees while the average in Champagne was 9.8, thus giving the wine generosity and sweetness. Reserve wines contribute to the exceptional aromatic intensity of the wine, linked in particular to the use of Pinots Noirs aged in magnums for almost 10 years. “

As soon as the bottle is opened, one cannot help but be charmed by the fruity notes of apple, rhubarb, quince and plum that emanate from them. It is a rich and complex bouquet of roasted hazelnut notes which further intoxicates the senses.

Finally, it is on the palate that all the sweetness and the exotic, brioche and lightly stewed flavors of this Bollinger PN champagne come to full fruition! A champagne specially composed to be shared, between enthusiasts….
