“Certain journeys transport us much further than we could imagine” confides one of the founders of this French start-up. It’s true that Aëdle’s adventures began on the web in 2011. There the headphones found their first 1,000 customers as well as the approbation of the international press. Their goal was simple: ensure that distinguished design and sound quality wouldn’t have to butt heads anymore.  In the same set of headphones, this gives the impression that there’s more than just the melody, maybe even “a universe able to be explored in all its forms.” This is how the headphones are transformed into an essential element on the journey of everyday life. The VK-1 Valkyrie is distinguishable by the nobility of its materials and a traditional French savoir-faire. The brand’s workshops are indeed in Brittany, France. Composed like an architect would do it, the piece presents a highly desirable design: sculpted one by one by a digital cutter out of ingots of virgin aluminum, the earpieces echo out with an evident rigidity, softened up by one of the most noble of leathers, hand-sewn in real lambskin.

This French brand decided to open their first bricks and mortar boutique this year. And what better neighborhood of Paris than le Marais to host the bold creativity of these young Parisians? The luxurious VK-1 Serie Edition headphones will be at 18 rue Charlot, sold “in the flesh” for the first time in a Classic, Carbon, beige, or black version. The first models conquered buyers from the four corners of the Earth; this little French wonder is bound to be emulated judging by the quality of the accessory. For that very reason, the brand is exhibiting its interest for an international market by granting selling rights to major retailers in New York, London, Berlin, and Tokyo. Other collaborations with prestigious French and American fashion houses are also soon to come. Stay tuned…
