Kristen Stewart is sticking around as Balenciaga’s muse, despite the departure of her mentor Nicolas Ghesquière. The actress, already brand ambassador for the perfume Florabotanica, has just confirmed the news.
With her delicate features and rock’n’roll look, Kristen Stewart has bewitched Hollywood and the world over. After the departure of her mentor in the fashion world, it wouldn’t have come as a surprise if she followed suit.
One year ago, Kristen already made a detachedly cheeky appearance in the ad campaign for Florabotanica, last fragrance of the Ghesquière era. A photo in which Steven Meisel perfectly succeeded in capturing the juvenile alchemy of this mythic fragrance. Conceived as a fragrance test, an experimental olfactory creation, the perfume gives off a contemporary and romanesque atmosphere, in the image of Ghesquière’s Balenciaga with all of its authentic classicism and sci-fi elements.
Created by famed perfumers Jean Christophe Hérault and Olivier Polge, the composition first comes off as being a bit masculine. The first note that surges forth is of vetiver, amber, and caladium leaf according with rose mixed with mint and carnation. This mysterious effluvium unveils a fragile femininity, little by little… In the image of the Balenciaga girl.
