It’s a new triumph for the American duo, winning for the fifth time in only ten years, the best designer for female ready-to-wear at the Council of Fashion Designers Awards. The “Oscars” of fashion have been crowning once a year, for the past fifty-one years, the best designers in the American fashion industry.

The host of the ceremony, Diane Von Furstenberg, rewarded the pioneering works of the accomplices more in tandem than ever, virtuous in pure cut and structure. Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough are in the midst of building a true empire, inseparable since their meeting at New York Parson School of Design in 1999.

The kings of American fashion reign decidedly supreme in New York City, It is possible to admire some of their pieces at the exposition “Punk: Chaos to couture” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art until August 14th. Their collections are regularly inspired by American grunge influences, the designers of Proenza Schouler hold a place of honor next to other great names in fashion such as Vivienne Westwood or Rei Kawakubo. Paul Valéry justly said, “Talent without genius is little. Genius without talent is nothing”, this the two designers reassure, because they undoubtedly possess both.
