Why Petit Bateau? What common values do you share?

Petit Bateau is a brand that we love… and that we’ve always been following… just like the rest of the French! We first collaborated with Petit Bateau for a capsule collection of t-shirts. Then in summer 2013 to reinterpret their nautical sweater for their 120th anniversary. At the same time, we were talking about a greater participation with them, by making them a proposition of more developed Men’s and Women’s collections within their adult line. We share a pronounced taste for well-made products, beautiful basics that are well-fashioned: a certain idea of chic (à la française).

This isn’t the first time that Petit Bateau has let your creativity be expressed. What is different about this new collaboration?

Petit Bateau expects us to give them advice on their men’s/women’s lines, the image, the layout in stores…

Petit Bateau is a typically French brand that has been able to find its place thanks to emblematic, even iconic, pieces. Which emblematic piece(s) from Petit Bateau did you want to rework? What were your guidelines?

Nautical stripes and the “milleraie” motif are Petit Bateau’s definitive “icons”… So we worked on weights, volumes, and variants as a dress or a jacket. It’s fresh and peppy at the same time!

About the reinterpreted nautical sweater: how did you want it to be?

Lighter, more contemporary.

Can you tell us about this collection? What words come to mind?

Fresh and pop, chic and street.

If Little Bateau were any one woman, which one do you think it would be? Why?

Romy Schneider, popular and elegant at the same time.

Do you feel like shouting anything?

Onward!
