We have seen his shoes on the runways of Chloe, Chanel, Sonia Rykiel, Bill Blass and Oscar de la Renta. Is it Louboutin ? Manolo ? No, but well indeed one of the greatest master of shoes, Walter Steiger. A shoemaker, less media savvy than most of his fellow designers, but a designer of bold and daring style with a boundless imagination. A shoemaker who has no hesitation in claiming not less than “excellence is my goal.”

The Swiss creator was first noticed owing to the shoes that he created for Mary Quant – creator of the mini skirt – for the Swinging London. But it was in 1983 that this shoe genius invented what has today become its flagship model: the Monte-Carlo pump. Helmut Newton – responsible for immortalising the shoe model & rendering it a style icon through one famous click shot.

The curved heels is to Walter Steiger what the red sole is to Louboutin. A signature at first glance, enough to identify a Steiger shoe, on the feet of Victoria Beckham, Beyonce, Lindsay Lohan, Julianne Moore, Michelle Williams or the very influential Anna Dello Russo. In 2012,the creator relaunched his Monte-Carlo shoe. The occasion for you to adorn the heels of the legendary shoe that defies the laws of gravity.
