Marc Jacobs, Sayuri Shoji, Annie Buzantian, and Ann Gottlieb: the creator, the designer, and the perfumers. This is the squad behind Dot, a perfume that’s quite on point. When ladybugs and butterflies come together, it makes for a lovely springtime walk.
For his third perfume, the designer opted for a bottle that’s every bit as peculiar as his “mouse flat” shoes. With a rounded body and wings to take flight, Marc Jacobs has given his newest elixir a fairy tale container.
The perfume’s various notes join together with gold and pearls for an exceptional olfactory voyage. It’s like the scent of childhood itself, where diverse smells come together to make us discover a patchwork of innocence gone by.
The berries in our childhood gardens, the vanilla-tinged smells of our first loves, or the scent of jasmine, reminiscent of our first vacations spent in the sun, are all evoked.
Marc Jacobs loves to tell stories, and this time it’s the story “of a butterfly or a ladybug landing on a leaf”.
Once again, he is pushing the boundaries of his craft. Sometimes called the Andy Warhol of fashion, he’s continuing to do what he does best: “taking everyday things […] and making them the most luxurious things in the world.”
