When luxury and philately come together, it creates a chic stamp in time… Where can you get a Hermès scarf for just a few cents? Try any French post office. For the 13th edition of its heart-shaped stamp collection, the French postal service is calling out to the unparalleled know-how of Hermès and to its iconic “carré” scarf to celebrate a Valentine’s Day fit for a king.

After Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Givenchy, and Lanvin, it’s the celebrated haute couture brand’s turn to be featured. A big first this year: the stamps included in the set will be released in five different versions. Looks like Zoé Pauwels, free-lance designer for the French fashion house since 1984, was really able to pour her whole heart into creating a visual treat for all the letter-writers of France!

All the characteristics of the original silk scarf are here, so that the Hermès label can be affixed onto any and every envelope: hearts, swans, stars, and a lyre. Somewhere between naïveté and refinement, lovers of all shapes and sizes will no doubt fall for it. The “Heart” collection, available in limited edition only, will be available in France on January 28, 2013.
