When the exceptional becomes the rule… Chanel watchmaking has managed to compose a timepiece that mixes preciousness and watchmaking technique. 2015 shall be no exception: the J12 Haute Horlogerie is the fruit of a collaboration between the house on the rue Cambon’s ateliers and master Swiss watchmakers Renaud & Papi. The precious comet tourbillon lightly turns; it’s almost as if you could feel a weight lifted off your shoulders through this noble and subtle detail. Under the auspices of Renaud & Papi’s savoir-faire, the tourbillon is undone at its upper bridge and, as if floating above time itself, activates the beating mechanism.
The J12 Haute Horlogerie has been unveiled in two brand new versions: the J12 Tourbillon Volant Squelette and the J12 Tourbillon Volant Comète. The first is constructed around a high-tech black matte ceramic casing, encircled by a white gold bezel. The dial, perforated with 74 brilliant cut diamonds, boasts white gold hands that are also encrusted with 21 diamonds. The 12 Tourbillon Volant Comète depicts one of the brand’s lucky charms. Composed of 18 rubies, its movement, conceived exclusively for Chanel by the manufacturer Renaud & Papi, is sealed in the cap of the white gold tourbillon encrusted with 19 brilliant cut diamonds. But since exceptional is the rule, the series is limited to only 20 copies.
