From May 13 until October 1, the Victoria & Albert Museum is honoring Pink Floyd. With concert set-ups, drums, keyboards, and posters of the band, but also with exclusive previews of recording sessions within the legendary Abbey Road studio. The sound and aesthetics of the most revolutionary band of last century is revealed through a well-thought set-up. But beyond legendary and historical aspects of the band, The Pink Floyd: Their Mortal Remains dedicates a large section to their technique.
Throughout their career, Pink Floyd made Sennheiser microphones an indispensable tool for experimenting with sound. It was notably thanks to the German audio specialist that the British group was able to ceaselessly push the accepted boundaries of sonority. To celebrate this unique collaboration, Sennheiser occupies the last part of the exhibit, within 120m2 in which Sennheiser implanted an Ambeo 3D that immerses the spectator in Pink Floyd’s music. This feat that the band dreamed of is now coming true.
But the celebration doesn’t stop there! In June Sennheiser also announced the release of a collector’s edition headset in the colors of the album The Dark Side Of The Moon. Referenced through engraved triangles and the rainbow colors used on the headphones, the special edition of the HD 1 Wireless set is sure to be iconic. Sennheiser’s signature remains just that: the high-definition aptX codec sculpts the smallest details of sound nuances, paired with an active hybrid NoiseGard function that reduces surrounding noise. The headphones unite high resolution, pure design, and exclusive materials like stainless steel and genuine leather. This piece is at the same level as the band’s music, and is exclusively available in Sennheiser boutiques and at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
